Two Myths About Car Decals

Here are two myths about car decals.

They lower the value of the vehicles they're placed on and make the vehicles harder to sell

Business owners who want to put decal signs on their cars to advertise their enterprises sometimes decide not to, because they mistakenly believe that car decals can lower the value of the vehicles they're placed on or make the vehicles harder to sell. This myth comes from the incorrect assumption that car decals are permanent and can only be removed by scraping them off in a way that would also remove the paint underneath them and damage the metal from which the car panels are made.

In reality, car decals are easy and quick to remove, and the removal process, when done correctly, will cause no damage to the panels. Most decals can be removed in just a few hours or less, by applying heat to the decals, which weakens the adhesive to the point where the decal material loosens and can be safely peeled off. Some vehicle owners choose to do this themselves, with a hairdryer, whilst others prefer to get this professionally done by the company from which they've ordered their sign decals. Professionals normally use a specialist heat tool for this process. The latter is the safest option if a person wants to ensure that their vehicle looks pristine, and shows no sign of having had any decals on it, after the removal process.

Car decals always look ostentatious and over-the-top

Another myth about car decals that can put business owners off using them as signs on their vehicles is that they always look a bit over the top; this is something that can deter business owners whose brands' aesthetics are more muted or sophisticated.

This assumption comes from the fact that people usually notice and pay the most attention to decals that, for example, feature extremely vivid colours, glitter, or other glitzy and bold elements. However, whilst it is possible to get very showy decals that will catch the attention of anyone who even glances in the direction of the vehicle they're on, there are also plenty of very subtle, elegant decal signs that can advertise a person's business in a much more understated way. Furthermore, a car owner who has this concern can also make their decals less obvious, simply by opting for smaller ones, whose text can only be read or design can only be seen when someone is close to the vehicle.
